Aloha Maui!!Today starts our new weekly highlight called "Who is our Hero" Wednesdays!! #whoisourherowednesday #howmanyhashtagsisthelimit We wanted to begin this highlight to make sure that the people volunteering, working, or supporting Habitat for Humanity Maui know how much we appreciate them. When we were considering who we wanted to honor this week, our Community Relations Director, Yvonne McClean, nominated our very own Christina Cyr for her positive attitude, her humbleness, and all her hard work. Christina is the Construction Crew Manager here at H4H Maui and started as an AmeriCorps intern. When we talked to Christina about what she feels her greatest accomplishment, while being on the team, has been, she said "I’m proud of all the lessons I've gathered from working alongside homeowners and volunteers. I came to Maui with minimal experience and I think I've learned something new from every volunteer we’ve ever had and in every home I've ever worked in. They’ve taught me about new tools, new ways to use old tools, new things about the world, new things about me and new things about interacting with different people. I truly am an amalgamation of all these moments from the people I work alongside and serve". Christina also mentioned that she feels accomplished if she can get through a project with less than 5 receipts on the job. She mentioned that one time she finished with 4! We are incredibly proud to have her on this team and thank her for all she does!! ... See MoreSee Less
