I was raised in Canada by entrepreneurial parents. My mother opened the first Photographic Art Gallery in Toronto, Canada, and my father was involved in computers when they were giant machines that occupied entire floors of buildings.
I was lucky to grow up around art and would spend my after school time doing homework on my mother's art gallery floor surrounded by Edward Weston, Andre Kertesz, and Diane Arbus imagery. On a whim, I decided to learn how to record music and so enrolled in the Recording Engineering program at an Ontario College and this led to my early life career in the music and advertising business.
I got to write my first “jingle” when I was 24 and the commercial starred “Bea Arthur” of Golden Girls fame. I went on to write countless scores for TV commercials, short films, and television shows and was nominated for a Gemini award in the category “Best Composer” for my work on the television series “PSI Factor”. I didn’t win, but what can I say, the show was about a giant insect from outer space!!
After nearly 10 years in the music business, Maui called my name and I sold everything, bought a Volkswagen Van and drove from Toronto to Seattle Washington where I put my van on a Matson boat and flew to Maui. That was more than 14 years ago and since living on Maui, I have taught piano, recorded music and toured as a backup singer for Keali’i Reichel, studied Hula and Hawaiian language, worked for a Publishing Company, a mortgage lending company, I designed and built several houses, completed an agricultural subdivision and developed a Tea Farm!
Now as a licensed Real Estate Broker, I can apply my extensive experience and knowledge of the county’s inner workings, my understanding of mortgage lending, and my love of architecture and farming, and bring these talents and values to the table as your representative so that you will have someone with a diverse and wholistic understanding of all things real estate on this priceless island I call home. Let’s go Look!
