With the constant changes during this pandemic, Habitat Maui continues to work hard towards their mission to build decent housing and to renovate substandard housing on Maui.
Habitat Maui is always working towards the best interest of our community and health and safety is our top priority. In an effort to protect our staff, volunteers, and homeowners there have been changes made within our ReStore/Donation Center, Construction Site(s), and Volunteer Programs.
ReStore Updates:
Masks are required at all times when in the ReStore or dropping off donations in the warehouse
Social distancing must be maintained
Restrooms are closed to the public
Donation drops-offs are by appointment only – call (808)242-1140 to schedule your drop-off
As of December, we will be resuming our donation pick-ups. Pick-ups must meet the following requirements:
Donation must be outside of an enclosed structure – we are not able to enter a building or home
Donation must be 25 feet from the curb, street, driveway or parking space
Donation must be on ground level
Access must not be by steep or unpaved driveway or road
Access must not be through low hanging branches or trees
Volunteer Program Updates: As we begin to welcome new and returning volunteers to the ReStore and Construction Site(s), there are safety procedures in place that all volunteers are required to follow.
ReStore –
We are accepting a maximum of 4 volunteers per day with no more than 2 volunteers at a time
Volunteers are required to schedule their days/hours in advance; you can register onto our volunteer portal to sign up online or e-mail yvonne@habitat-maui.org
Social distancing of 6′ shall be maintained at all times
Face masks required at all times
Volunteers are responsible for their own personal protective equipment
Non-contact external temperature screening will be conducted by staff – volunteers with temperatures of 100 degrees and higher will be sent home
Volunteers who feel ill, experience ANY symptoms of COVID, have potentially come into contact with anyone who has COVID shall remain off site
Volunteers who have traveled to Maui recently shall remain off site for 10 days following their arrival
Construction Site(s) –
Social distancing of 6′ shall be maintained at all times
Face masks required at all times
Volunteers are responsible for their own personal protective equipment
Hand washing stations have been set up – volunteers shall utilize hand washing station as often as possible
Non-contact external temperature screening will be conducted by staff – volunteers with temperatures of 100 degrees and higher will be sent home
Volunteers who feel ill, experience ANY symptoms of COVID, have potentially come into contact with anyone who has COVID shall remain off site
