Habitat Maui COVID-19 Response and Protocols


With the constant changes during this pandemic, Habitat Maui continues to work hard towards their mission to build decent housing and to renovate substandard housing on Maui.

Habitat Maui is always working towards the best interest of our community and health and safety is our top priority. In an effort to protect our staff, volunteers, and homeowners there have been changes made within our ReStore/Donation Center, Construction Site(s), and Volunteer Programs.



ReStore Updates:
  • Monday hours have been modified to 12:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Masks are required at all times when in the ReStore or dropping off donations in the warehouse
  • Donation drops-offs are by appointment only – call (808)242-1140 to schedule your drop-off
  • Donation pick-ups are limited to businesses and estate sales
  • Social distancing must be maintained
  • Restrooms are closed to the public

Volunteer Program Updates:
As we begin to welcome new and returning volunteers to the ReStore and Construction Site(s), there are safety procedures in place that all volunteers are required to follow.

ReStore –
  • We are accepting a maximum of 4 volunteers per day with no more than 2 volunteers at a time
  • Orientation for new volunteers are now held on Tuesdays and are by appointment only
  • Volunteers are required to schedule their days/hours in advance; please contact Yvonne McClean at (808)242-1140 or yvonne@habitat-maui.org to schedule your hours
  • Social distancing of 6′ shall be maintained at all times
  • Face masks required at all times
  • Volunteers are responsible for their own personal protective equipment
  • Non-contact external temperature screening will be conducted by staff – volunteers with temperatures of 100 degrees and higher will be sent home
  • Volunteers who feel ill, experience ANY symptoms of Covid, or have traveled out of State or inter-island within 14 days will not be permitted
Construction Site(s) –
  • Social distancing of 6′ shall be maintained at all times
  • Face masks required at all times
  • Volunteers are responsible for their own personal protective equipment
  • Hand washing stations have been set up – volunteers shall utilize hand washing station as often as possible
  • Volunteers who feel ill, experience ANY symptoms of Covid, or have traveled out of State or inter-island within 14 days will not be permitted
  • Volunteer groups restrictions in place; please contact Yvonne McClean for more details
